How to setup Server monitor web app on your iPhone?

The information on this page is verified on an iPhone (Software version 1.1.3)


Set Server Monitor web app on your iPhone in the easy steps as illustrated below:

System Requirements for Server Monitor web app for iPhone:

  • iPhone with Internet connection and Software version 1.1.3
  • Root Internet free OR professional monitoring service account - click here to signup now
    (Note: Free account is designed for evaluating the system only and serves as trial account only. Professional account holders get lot more information on the iPhone than the free account holders because the RSS feed is not available in free accounts which is the base for this web app to work properly)
  • We recommend you to open a trial account and add some web servers/sites to monitor first
  • Please note you should only monitor the web sites and or servers if you are authorised to do so. For example if you are a web master or responsible for web sites / servers

We recommend you to perform the following steps on your browser on your machine unless stated otherwise.

→ If you do not have Root Internet monitoring account please sign up for a trial account first - click here to signup now using web browser on your machine.

→ Add servers and or web sites to monitor into your online Root Internet account using web browser on your machine.

→ Provided you have Root Internet Account and servers and or web sites to monitors setup in your account please see next steps.

Note: Next steps are important otherwise Server Monitor for iPhone may not function as expected

→ Now open web browser type http://monitor.rootinternet.co.uk/ in the address bar and login into your online Root Internet account. Login dialog can be found on the left hand side of http://monitor.rootinternet.co.uk/

→ Using the online Root Internet account shown above add a server or website which you want to monitor using this system. Click here for more information about various types of tests we support. You may find answers to your questions on FAG section on our website - Please checkout http://monitor.rootinternet.co.uk/en/faq.php

→ Enable public report function by following the illustration below (Click on it to see enlarged illustration)

Next steps are to be performed on the iPhone

→ Using Safari on your iPhone visit http://iphone.rootinternet.co.uk/

→ When prompted for your account user name please enter in the box provided and hit Save.

→ You should see the list of your servers and or web sites being monitored.

Add the shortcut to this status report to your iPhone Home Screen

→ In order to add the current status report web app url as shortcut to home Home Screen hit + button at the bottom of the Safari

→ Tab your finger on "Add to Home Screen" button.
